报告人简介：
　　PAULO CÉSAR DE  MORAIS教授，巴西巴西利亚大学物理系正教授，2007年巴西Nanobiomagnetism网络（BNN）主管，获巴西利亚大学的硕士研究奖，2008年欧洲ERA  NET纳米科学委员会成员，IEEE磁性协会技术委员会，IEEE协会高级会员的成员。Morais教授1981年毕业于巴西巴西利亚大学物理与化学系，获物理学硕士学位；1986年巴西米纳斯吉拉斯州联邦大学获固体物理学博士学位，1987-1988年在美国贝尔通信研究公司做两年博士后研究。
　　莫赖斯教授是巴西体育协会，巴西研究材料学会，美国物理学会，美国化学学会（物理化学部），和电气和电子研究所工程师  -  IEEE的成员。他还曾担任几次国际会议的主席：智能材料国际会议，磁流体国际会议，磁性国际会议，磁性载体国际会议，Intermag的科研和临床应用等。莫赖斯教授任超过30个期刊，如物理快报，应用物理学等的审稿人。
　　莫赖斯教授曾在过去30年做有关纳米材料的研究。他主要从事和磁性纳米粒子的特性和相关材料系统（磁流体，magnetoliposomes，磁性纳米乳液，磁性纳米复合材料）的研究。他已出版了超过300篇（ISI）论文，并发明了超过10项专利。

报告内容简介：
　　The successful development of magnetic  nanoparticulated structures for specific applications requires the joint effort  of professionals with different backgrounds, ranging from Chemists up to  Engineers and Physicians. In this talk magnetic fluids are presented as a  successful material platform to built complex nanosized magnetic material  systems, targeting applications as different as magnetic nanocomposites for  clean up technologies addressed to oil spills and magnetic drug delivery systems  for photodynamic and magnetohyperthermia therapies applied to cancer treatment.  Among the complex nanosized magnetic systems biocompatible magnetic fluids,  magnetoliposomes, biocompatible magnetic nanocapsules, and biocompatible  magnetic nanoemulsions will be emphasized. The magnetic nanoparticle chemical  co-precipitation synthesis, its surface-functionalization, further peptization  in hosting liquid carriers and the basic properties of magnetic fluids will be  discussed in the talk
